With eDocView, your company’s employees can open, view and print a great variety of raster, PDF, and office formats without having to resort to the original software. Different markup tools are available to the user to apply comments, stamps and annotations to the documents.

eDocView is based on Java technology and offers an extremely adaptable and platform-independent tool for all viewing and markup tasks. View and Print

Open, view and print a lot of documents, such as raster, PDF or office formats, with just one product and no resort to the original software – with eDocView!

Throughout the work process, the integrity of your documents is preserved, because all comments, stamps and annotations are stored in a separate file. eDocView offers a Multiple Document Interface (MDI) so that multiple documents in different formats can be displayed in a single instance of the Java-based viewer. A tabbed system (like in an internet browser) makes it easy to switch between open documents. The document identification of eDocView prevents the document from being opened several times. Instead, eDocView switches to the document-tab where it was already opened.

In this single instance of eDocView you can print individual documents or all open documents simultaneously with or without annotations. All standard print options are available for you.

Furthermore, eDocView makes it possible to search for text within vector PDF documents as well as all office document formats. For raster documents you need to run an optical character recognition before. The user has several additional options such as “Ignore case”, “Ignore diacritical characters”, “Ignore blanks” and “Pattern matching (regular expressions)”. In this way, the user is provided with a comprehensive search, which is possible for different document formats.

Markups and Annotations

With eDocView users have the possibility to provide text-based and graphical markups and annotations on the document in a simple and intuitive way. All information about the author (user), date and time will be retained.

By default, eDocView offers the following text-based annotations …

  • Line, ellipse, rectangle

  • Freehand

All markups and annotations can be applied in the same way to all supported raster, PDF and office formats. In this way, the employees of your company can intuitively edit all existing document types with different types of annotations. The Java-based multiformat viewer eDocView has a customizable user interface and can be easily integrated into any existing DMS or ECM system due to its extensive API.

A multifunction toolbar guides the user intuitively through the necessary work processes and is very user-friendly. File formats supported

eDocView supports a lot of raster, PDF and office file formats. The multiformat viewer automatically identifies the respective file format. Alternatively, the file format can also be taken from the existing DMS or ECM system via MIME type. In this way, the opening of documents is accelerated.
